Your Student Z-ID and Password

Z-ID

You are assigned a Z-ID when you apply to NIU. Your Z-ID looks like z9#####. It is permanent.
Look up your Z-ID.

Password

All students (including prospective and admitted) are given an initial password that allows only 3 logins.  Go to password.niu.edu and change your password before your initial password expires.

• Mmm is the first 3 characters of the Month.
• Example: January 1, 1993 = 1993Jan01

If you need help determining your initial password

You can change your password at any time at password.niu.edu.
Note: Your password expires every 130 days.
